Looking for some great multiplayer games to play when you have friends over? Great couch co op games are becoming less and less common on the latest generation of platforms. Most modern multiplayer games are online only and only a single player per system, but the PS4 still has some great local 4 player games available. Wild Guns: Reloaded is a must buy if you enjoyed the original SNES version. I'd believe that any players of the original already have this new PS4 version. This release of Wild Guns entails new characters, weapons, stages, and bosses.
Wild Guns took the arcade style side shooter, and polished it to brilliant levels. With a western steampunk setting, Wild guns emphasizes smooth controls, nostalgic graphics, and a rewarding difficulty. Players will experience a frenzy of shooting, rolling, and dodging to take down the bosses at the end of the levels.

Diablo 3 is a definitive game for hardcore gamers. Having been released for a few years already, the Playstation 4 version of Diablo 3 merges the success of years of patches into a great game. The Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition gives you the Reaper of Souls expansion.
Diablo 3 is one of the more replayable games out on the market today. The story is short and fun, and will keep you replaying it for weeks on end. Rushing through hordes of goblins and slaying demons is very rewarding when grinding levels and farming legendary items. The very high paragon level cap will make sure it takes months to hit the max.

Helldivers is a top down shooter by the creaters of Gauntlet, and Magicka. Players must work together to protect SUPER EARTH, in a unit of super soldiers called HELLDIVERS.
If you are a fan of Warhammer: Dawn of War RTS and Alien Swarm, you are going to love this game. Helldivers is sort of a combination of both games. From being able to call down air strike pods to deliver ammo, or commanding a heavy bolter, controlling death and destruction will be at your fingertips.

Rocket League has become the hottest thing in competitive e-sport gaming. Rocket League is played using cars, and the rules of soccer. Except you also have rocket boosters, and get to jump and fly through the air for a short period of time. There is a lot of DLC for this game but its purely for cosmetic purposes only. Rocket League is very easy to understand but hard to master.

My initial thought of Towerfall is that is like Super Smash Bros, but with bows and arrows, and a beautiful pixel based art style. This is personally one of my favorite games from this decade. We'd host numerous tournaments throughout the night to declare the best player between our friends.
Towerfall is a battle arena-type game focused on fast-paced bow and arrow oriented combat. The game consists of simple and easy to learn mechanics, after a couple of games played you will be up to speed and ready to compete. You will lose friends over this game... worth it.

Rayman Legends is a classic platformer that just simply gets right. It comfortably plays like a traditional platformer with updated graphics. You get the options to choose and play between Rayman and his three friends.
If you enjoyed classic 2d platformers like Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country, Rayman Legends is highly recommended as it’s the closest thing to them these days. Rayman has tight controls, great levels, and tons of unlockable content to keep you playing well after you have completed this game.

Little Big Planet 3 is a platformer with endless hours of content. Actually endless. Much like how Mario Maker does it, Little big planet allows you to play through other user created levels. A great buy for kids with its cute, plushy art style, and easy to learn gameplay.

Gauntlet is a top-view dungeon crawler, which will definitely give the the feeling of old school local co-op fun. This game provided a lot of fun during my 3 player experience. It can be very challenging at times. Hard bosses, and a nice variety of levels. Gauntlet Slayer edition is based upon the from the 1985 NES classic.

If Nacho Libre was a platformer, this is what you would be looking at. Guacamelee has a completely unique theme, like no other video game has really tried before. Guacamelee is a metroid-vania style game with lots to explore and will leave you wanting to try to 100% this game and collect everything (Definitely a challenge).

Overcooked is a chaotic couch co-op cooking game for one to four players. Working as a team, you and your fellow chefs must prepare, cook and serve up a variety of tasty orders before the baying customers storm out in a huff. Sharpen your knives and dust off your chef’s whites, there isn’t mushroom for error and the steaks are high in these crazy kitchens!
Overcooked is best played with 3-4 people locally. Communication is crucial. My friends and I tried to get gold medals on each level and ended staying up all night, and screaming at each other the whole time. Each stage may take a few tries to get a system down for what each players role in the kitchen is. Initially it will be very frustrating as the levels are always shifting around and the rats always stealing your food. But it is also equally as rewarding when you win with your friends.
