Crash Bandicoot Spiking in Anticipation of PS4 Remake

Crash Bandicoot for the Playstation 1 is starting to spike. Its always been around a $22 game, and within the last month is averaging at $33. Good condition copies can sell closer to $40. If are lucky to have to original black label version, that can sell for $50.

This can be in in part to gamers being eager to play Crash Bandicoot, because of the Remastered Crash Bandicoot Trilogy for the PS4. There are new rumors that the PS4 trilogy is coming this February 2017.

Crash Bandicoot is a great example of game where the price varies depending on which version it is. The Black label is $20 higher than the greatest hits version.  Generally the price difference in versions is not as high as this game.  For the Playstation 1, greatest hits and green label are the same thing.  The PAL Price is only high because shipping to AU is always very costly.

I'd estimate the selling price of this Crash Bandicoot to keep slowly rising up until a few months AFTER the PS4 version is released. I would not be shocked if the average price creeps up to $50 because of the confusion from sellers seeing black label copies selling high and not understanding the reason why. The urge to play the original will peak at the remakes release. Once the hype dies down, the PS1 versions should start balancing to normal.
